Is it safe to travel to sofia? what the political situation there?

Tina - yes, it's safe. I am British and live in Sofia as my British husband has worked here for seveeral years. Bulgaria has been a member of the European Union for almost a year, and has met all the criteria the EU demands. You need only take the same precautions you would take in your own country for personal safety.
