Monday - 10th April 2006
Kings Park Stadium, also known for sponsorship reasons as ABSA Stadium, is a stadium in Durban, South Africa, which was originally built in 1891 and extensively renovated in 1990. It has a capacity of 52,000 and is used for both rugby union and football . The stadium currently hosts the following teams:
The Sharks in the Southern Hemisphere Super 14 rugby competition
The Natal Sharks, the slightly adapted name given to the above rugby team when they compete in South Africa's main domestic rugby competition, the Currie Cup
The Golden Arrows in the Premier Soccer League
The Amazulu in the Premier Soccer League for important matches
Kings Park will no longer be a venue for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, as a new 75,000 seater stadium is being constructed where the adjacent Kings Park Football Stadium stood.
