Waar ligt Kasteel Maurick
(Vught, province of Noord-Brabant) The origins of Maurick castle, set picturesquely near the river Dommel, can be traced back to the 13th century. A first house of substance was built by Jan and Gijsbrecht Liescap, who were also involved in the building of nearby Den Bosch cathedral. The sale of the castle to the Knight Goossen Heym in 1475 was the start of two centuries of growth. The castle was expanded by the Den Bosch cathedral architects, and extensively changed in the 1500s. Goossens heirs had to vacate the house several times when princes Maurits and Frederik Hendrik used it as their headquarters in the 1600s. In 1680 the house was sold to the Beresteyn-Brouart family,who owned it until 1884, when it was abandoned. For a while it served as the Vught town hall. Nowadays it houses a restaurant and conference facilities.

Kasteel Maurick is een kasteel in de Brabantse plaats Vught. Het is gelegen op een eilandje bij de Dommel. Het kasteel dateert van ± 1400, en is niet meer in oorspronkelijke staat. In 1504-1509 vermoedelijk verbouwd door Jan Heyns, een van de bouwmeesters van de Sint Janskathedraal in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Frederik Hendrik van Oranje heeft bij het Beleg van 's-Hertogenbosch hier huisgehouden. Het Kasteel heette toen nog het Heymshuis. Het Kasteel viel net buiten het Kwartier van Frederik Hendrik.
Op dit moment is er in het kasteel een restaurant gevestigd.
